With a combined 30 years of experience, the Simplify Psychology team has been helping people from all walks of life to think better, feel better and do better for a long time. We have a strong focus on educating and demystifying mental health and wellbeing and with proven models and theories supported by science and research, we’ll provide you the tools and strategies that will allow you to gain understanding and a sense of control over your life and future.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other proven treatment models, we can help you to make sense of and overcome the issues that are holding you back.

Hi, we're James and Danny and we are here to help.

Whilst we don’t always take ourselves too seriously, we take your mental health and wellbeing very seriously. We’re committed to making the process of getting help as clear and comfortable as possible. We’re very aware that engaging in therapy can be a significant decision and investment, so we are here to walk alongside you through the process from the beginning.  

How does it work?

Call/text/email to set up a free phone consult to discuss what you want/need and get a feel for how we can help –> schedule an initial session.

Initial session – the first session can be a new experience for some, and we’ll do everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible – Three main goals in this session 1. you share the important information to allow us to develop an understanding of you and how we can help 2. You decide if we’re the right fit for you. 3 Start to set some goals for therapy.

Ongoing sessions at a time and frequency that suits your needs.

Meet James, Clinical Psychologist and founder of Simplify Psychology

I’m a Waikato trained clinical psychologist with over 17 years experience helping adults and young people with a broad range of issues.

I’m experienced in various types of evidence-based therapy, having worked in correctional, medical and mental health settings, specialising in the management of psychological issues and assisting people with mood and anxiety disorders, stress-related problems, relationship issues and problematic behaviours. More than that… I can help you take steps to a happier, healthier, fulfilling life.

Meet Danny, Psychologist and really good bloke


I’m a registered Psychologist with 12 years clinical experience working in Australia, and New Zealand. I’ve supported adults and young people with a broad range of issues to make positive change. Working in private, non-government organisation (NGO), and correctional settings, I’m experienced in various types of evidence-based therapy, and enjoy supporting clients to turn insight into action to achieve their goals and enhance wellbeing.
